During the Yukon Tavern’s early days, musicians came from miles to step to entertain our crowd, making the Yukon SE Portland’s home for great live music. It’s been awhile since those rollickin’ nights were a regular feature on Friday and Saturday nights at our bar, but we’re bringing them back and they’re going to be better than ever!

Great live music has been a regular feature at our bar in the past. At one time we were part of the legendary West Coast Circuit that drew the top up-and-coming artists to our “stage” before becoming big names in the music industry. Rumor has it that even the great Willie Nelson picked up his legendary guitar “Trigger” and took the mic at the Yukon to play his great honky-tonk songs.

Local bands, many from the Cascade Blues Association, are being added to our weekly schedule and taking the stage every Friday and Saturday night at 9pm. (Check out our monthly calendar of events to stay up to date.) The musicians we’ll be featuring covers a broad range of genres, including blues, bossa nova, folk, Americana, and rock and roll. All the bands have become favorites in neighborhoods across Portland and many have performed on stages across the United States.

Several of the bands also play at the Yukon’s sister bar Mock Crest Tavern in North Portland. Fans of The Adequates, Big Bossa Nova, the Tracey Fordice Band, DC Malone, and MoJo Holler will want to come out to hear at them play at our bar after hearing their shows at Mock.
