A Few of My Favorite Things About the Yukon Tavern

The Yukon Tavern holds a special place in my heart. It’s casual vibe, it’s great food, drinks, and service, and it’s long history as a historical marker in its Southeast Portland neighborhood. Well, I’ll soon be moving to a new city and leaving the many things I love about this “dive” bar.

These are just a few of the things I’ll miss most about the Yukon Tavern.

The Food and Drink

You can always count on a delicious juicy burger made from fresh ingredients and stacked high inside a fresh bun. Biting into one of these makes me smile every time. I’ll also miss the great drinks served at the Yukon. No matter what I choose to drink, I know it will be mixed with pride and served with a smile by one of the Yukon’s skilled bartenders. One of my favorites is the CBD drink Abliss Lemon Ginger. The chefs and bartenders go above and beyond to keep their customers happy, and that philosophy is proven time and again in the food and drinks they serve.

Events All Month Long

The Yukon hosts a variety of events throughout the month. From movies, to bands, to poker; whatever the interest, the Yukon’s calendar will have something for you. I attended my first mobile painting class at the Yukon and now I am a regular painter at home. Now they’ve added live music every week and I’m sorry I’ll have to miss out hearing all the great bands filling their calendar.

The People

Most of all I will miss the easy vibe and welcoming atmosphere I always found at the Yukon. I toasted friends, shared baskets of fries with friends, and joked with friends across the table. And, across the bar. The bartenders always make you feel like you belong there as they buzz around making sure everyone is having a great time.

While I’ll miss the Yukon after I’m gone, I’ll look forward to the day when I return to enjoy the good food and drinks, friends and fun that I find at the Yukon Tavern.
