The Yukon Tavern’s “Suds and Cinema” movie night is back on Sunday, May 5, at 7:20pm with one of the biggest movies of the decade—2012’s blockbuster, The Hunger Games!

Jennifer Lawrence became the star she is today when she made the role of Katniss Everdeen her own in this hit film. Based on the bestselling novel of the same name, this action, adventure, sci-fi, thriller tells the story of an oppressed girl who rises to the pinnacle of her nation.
Every year two young contestants from each of the nation’s twelve district are selected by lottery to participate in the year’s biggest event, The Hunger Games, that is part entertainment, part brutal retribution for a past rebellion. The televised competition pits twenty-four young participants against each other in an bloody battle to the death while the nation watches. Katniss volunteers to save her younger sister from the battle and she and her partner join the fight. Whoever survives the blood bath is declared the winner.
The run-away hit written by Suzanne Collins is an exciting thrill ride and a great movie for the Yukon’s Sunday evening viewing. Over the years, our movie fan crowds have enjoyed a selection of Hollywood’s best movies,popular films, under-the-radar hits, and movies that are tailor-made for seeing in a bar, like Patrick Swayze’s Roadhouse.
